After getting Islamabad airport and briefing in Ministry of Tourism, you are ready to board PIA's737 aircraft for Skardu if you are lucky enough to catch the flight because all the flights to Skardu and Gilgit are subject to weather conditions. If not, dare to travel by road to Chilas(485km) in the morning without wasting your time, takes about 10 hours. The next day start your journey to Skardu (295km) lasts for about 8 hours. Rest for a day if you have enought time and get well packed because the next day you have to travel again on the rough road to Thongol (125km) on rough road for about 6 to 7 hours.

Biafo Hisper is the Longest glacier(65km) trek outside the polar region.Your real trekking starts from Thongol along Braldo river. You will arrive to Askole (the last human inhibition on the route) after an hour or so and then to Biafo Glacier after 3 hrs. Start walking again after lunch for about 3 to 4 hours to get Namla (3650m). This is an ablation valley with grass and willow bushes by a stream. Your next destination is  Mango, not as easy to cross crevassed area of the glacier  but the spectacular views of Latok I(7145m), Latok II7108m) and Latok III(6949m) make your journey exciting.

The trail up to Snow Lake is easy from Mango. Snow Lake is a 16km wide basin

of ice which offers excellent views of numerous 6000m peaks. After exploring Snow Lake catch your way to Hisper valley. The path after descending from Snow Lake is easy. There is only one long glacier comes on the way takes about 3 hours to cross. Rest is the path on greenery. The trek ends at Hisper, an islolated village of the former independent state of Nagar. Drive to Hunza from here, takes about 2 to 3 hours.

Spend a day in karimabad and explore the valley. Visit the famous Altit and Baltit forts specially renovated for tourists. Catch your way back to Gilgit and catch early morning flight to Islamabad if the waether is favourable otherwise travel by road to Rawalpindi (12 to 14 hrs).
